Rumor: Michael Jackson's This Is It Blu-ray Before Christmas
Posted October 30, 2009 09:15 AM by Juan Calonget
Sony Pictures 'Michael Jackson's This Is It ', the movie documenting the late performer's rehearsals for a series of London concerts cancelled after Jackson's sudden
passing, was expected to be released on Blu-ray in early 2010. However, our friends at The Digital Bits are reporting that it will probably come out before Christmas,
and maybe as early as Thanksgiving.
However, it must be noted that the French and German editions are also already up for preorder at the respective Amazon sites, both with release dates of March 2010.
We shall know for sure when there is an official announcement.
'This Is It' opened theatrically on October 28, for a limited run of two weeks, and grossed over $20 million worldwide in its first day.
The Los Angeles Times reports that, indeed, Sony Pictures "desperately" wanted to release 'This Is It' for the holiday shopping season "but backed down after movie theater owners complained that it would be too soon after the film's theatrical premiere."
